You walk out of your appointment feeling better. You’ve got a plan. You know you need better sleep, steadier meals, and some way to handle the stress.

Then Tuesday morning hits. You’re exhausted, the to-do list is a mile long, and the plan quietly slips away.

Here’s what we want you to hear: that isn’t a willpower problem. You’re not failing. You’re doing the hard work of healing inside a very full life. What’s usually missing isn’t motivation. It’s support in the hours between appointments.

That’s exactly why we’re so excited to introduce the newest member of the HPJ family: Amy Neal, our Integrative Wellness Specialist.

Meet Amy

Amy is new to Jacksonville, but she’s far from new to this work. She’s been a licensed acupuncturist for 14 years and has spent more than a decade in integrative and holistic health.

Her path brought her here the long way around. She practiced for years in Hawai‘i, then in North Carolina, before life landed her in Jacksonville. She’s currently completing the process for her Florida acupuncture license.

In the meantime, she’s bringing something brand new to HPJ: a set of integrative wellness services designed for everything that happens outside the treatment room.

Amy’s training is wide and deep:

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine and 14 years of acupuncture practice
  • Functional medicine-informed nutrition and wellness
  • Health coaching and mindfulness
  • Somatic (body-based) practices, qigong, and clinical hypnotherapy

Much of her career has centered on women’s health. That includes fertility, pregnancy and postpartum care, hormonal changes, perimenopause and menopause, and nervous-system health. Sound familiar? She fits right in.

“One thing I’ve learned over the years is that healing doesn’t stop when you leave the treatment room.” — Amy Neal

Why we’re so excited about Amy

Amy doesn’t hand you a 40-item checklist and send you on your way. Her approach is the opposite of overwhelming.

She isn’t interested in a perfect diet, a cabinet full of supplements, or a long list of things you “should” be doing. She wants to understand your body, your schedule, and your real life. Then she helps you build habits you can actually keep.

That’s the same belief we’ve built HPJ on for 18 years: you deserve to be heard, and your plan should fit your life.

Integrative wellness coaching

You probably already know what you want to change. The hard part is making it stick on a Tuesday morning when you’re tired and stretched thin.

Integrative Wellness Coaching gives you dedicated time to look at the bigger picture. Amy looks at nutrition, digestion, hormones, sleep, movement, and stress. Together, you map out where you are, where you want to go, and which changes are realistic for your life right now.

This is a great fit if you’re:

  • Trying to conceive and want real-life help with nutrition and lifestyle
  • Pregnant and struggling with sleep or stress
  • Postpartum and trying to take care of yourself while caring for everyone else
  • In perimenopause or menopause and suddenly don’t recognize your own body
  • Managing chronic pain, digestive issues, or fatigue and want support between acupuncture visits
  • Finishing a treatment plan and wondering how to protect the progress you’ve made

“Sometimes you need treatment. Sometimes you need education. And sometimes you need someone to help you connect all the pieces and figure out what comes next.” — Amy Neal

Somatic wellness coaching

If you’ve ever been told to “just relax,” you know how unhelpful that is. Your body isn’t ignoring you on purpose. It’s doing its job, a little too well.

“Somatic” simply means of the body. Stress doesn’t only live in your thoughts. It shows up as tight shoulders, restless sleep, a stomach in knots, irritability, or that wired-and-tired feeling of always being “on.”

Amy teaches simple, practical tools to help your nervous system shift out of that heightened state. Sessions may include:

  • Breathwork and mindfulness you can use anywhere
  • Grounding techniques for hard moments
  • Gentle movement and qigong
  • Guided imagery and other nervous-system regulation tools

The goal isn’t to eliminate stress. That’s not realistic for anyone. The goal is a more flexible nervous system, one that can respond to stress and then find its way back to calm.

This can be especially helpful while trying to conceive, during pregnancy and postpartum, through perimenopause, and during grief or big life transitions. It isn’t a replacement for medical care, mental health treatment, or acupuncture. It’s another layer of support.

BioScan assessments

Feeling off but not sure where to start? Maybe you’ve had appointment after appointment and still have more questions than answers. We hear you, and that frustration is real.

A BioScan is a simple, non-invasive wellness assessment using QEST4 technology. It’s a starting point to organize your concerns and build a clear plan for what comes next.

Here’s how a session works:

  1. Amy reviews your health history, symptoms, and goals.
  2. She runs the BioScan. You simply sit and hold two small hand sensors.
  3. You go over the results together, focusing on what relates to your concerns. Areas explored include nutrients, digestion, hormones, sleep, stress and emotional wellness, and environmental and food sensitivities.
  4. You leave with a personalized wellness plan.

Your plan may include nutrition recommendations, supplement guidance when it makes sense, lifestyle and stress strategies, and nervous-system support. Sessions run 45 to 60 minutes.

We want to be straight with you, because honesty matters to us. A BioScan is not lab testing, and it isn’t a diagnosis. It’s a tool for getting clear. If something deserves a closer look, Amy will recommend labs or a visit with your doctor.

How Amy fits into your care

Amy’s work doesn’t replace what you’re already doing at HPJ. It strengthens it. Think of her as the bridge between your treatments and the rest of your week.

  • Mid-treatment? Amy helps you get more out of every acupuncture or massage visit.
  • Finishing a care plan? She helps you protect your progress as you move into maintenance care.
  • New to HPJ? A BioScan with Amy is a clear, low-pressure place to start.

Individual sessions with Amy are $150. You can also fold her services into a comprehensive care plan alongside acupuncture, massage, injections, herbs, and supplements, at a better overall value. Our team will help you find the right fit.

Free BioScans through November 30

To welcome Amy to Jacksonville, BioScan assessments are free through November 30, 2026. Amy’s calendar has a limited number of openings, so we’d encourage you to grab your spot early.

Welcome to Jacksonville, Amy

For 18 years, our mission has been simple: transform lives for good. What happens in the treatment room matters. So do all the hours in between. Amy helps us show up for you in both.

Next time you’re in, stop and say hello. Welcome her to Jacksonville. And if any part of this sounds like exactly what you’ve been missing, we’d love to help you get started.
